Job summary

STERIS is seeking an Assembler to join our production team in Canada. This full-time, permanent role involves assembling subsystems and equipment components on production lines, packaging devices, and preparing service kits.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience, with the ability to read drawings and use hand tools. English language skills are required for cross-province communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (Secondary V) or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Attention to detail and precision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly tasks according to the production schedule and required quantities.
  • Assemble all equipment components (doors, pumps, tanks, cabinets, plumbing, pneumatic systems) and make the necessary adjustments in accordance with equipment specifications.
  • Perform surface finish inspections using the appropriate measuring equipment.
  • For those working in the packaging cell: disassemble equipment into subcomponents and carry out the tasks required to build shipping crates (cutting wood, assembling crates, applying labels/stickers, etc.).
  • Identify issues with parts or the assembly process and promptly notify the supervisor.
  • Participate in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Perform basic maintenance on assembly tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and projects.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
