Job description

Join to apply for the Media Buyer role at UM Worldwide.

The role of a Buyer, Investment, is to prepare, negotiate, and document the execution of client’s media buys within their buying group, as well as assist the Supervisor/Manager in preparing all written documentation for the Planner or Client (e.g., pre-buy/post-buy reports, media evaluations/recommendations, and other pertinent documentation).

This role requires collaboration with an integrated media investment team to ensure the product is grounded in insights and experience, resulting in flawless media executions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Negotiate media campaigns directly with sales representatives.
  2. Purchase all assigned media according to campaign parameters.
  3. Request submissions for upcoming campaigns from media partners.
  4. Develop a media schedule that satisfies campaign parameters and brand objectives.
  5. Collaborate with the media planning team to address market concerns, timing, and brand attribution.
  6. Prepare and present pre-buy and post-buy reports.
  7. Upload media buys and track changes with high accuracy.
  8. Resolve billing discrepancies/queries and manage the budget control report (BCR) promptly.
  9. Implement revisions to media buys as needed.
  10. Negotiate compensation when required.
  11. Maintain clear communication with planning teams, including involvement in briefs.
  12. Assist the Senior Buyer with evaluations or cost analyses of sponsorships and integrations, providing recommendations.
  13. Explore promotional or value-added opportunities where applicable.
  14. Proactively inform the team of any variations in media plan execution.
  15. Assist in training junior team members on tools and processes.
  16. Contribute to the preparation of media points of view (POVs).
  17. Conduct market analyses.
  18. Perform third-party audits as needed.
  19. Continuously develop knowledge of the media landscape.
Qualifications:
  1. Background in Marketing or Advertising is advantageous.
  2. Associate-level experience in the media industry with proven buying experience.
  3. Strong desire to develop and excel in a media career.
  4. Client service orientation.
  5. Analytical and financial skills.
  6. Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
