Weir in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer in Training (EIT) to design and integrate automation systems for Synertrex sensing technologies and Digital Next solutions, with 20-40% travel.

This onsite role offers hands-on installation, testing, and collaboration with customers and global teams to enable reliable, data‑driven monitoring and safer operations. You’ll build on a strong engineering foundation and contribute to a sustainable future through end-to-end system delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or equivalent engineering discipline.
• 0–4 years in instrumentation, control systems development, and customer-facing roles.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and Modbus TCP/IP.
• Strong cross-team communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• System design, specification, and development of automation and control systems for Synertrex and Digital Next solutions.
• Installation, startup, and customer adoption support at sites with technical guidance.
• Equipment management, testing, and maintenance for reliability and performance.
• Act as a technical liaison with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Generate installation guidelines and SOPs in line with electrical standards.
• Travel 20–40% domestically and some international trips.
• Maintain safety culture and compliance in all activities.
