Job summary

KGS Group, Winnipeg, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join the Mechanical-Industrial Department. You will prepare models and drawings, perform site inspections, and support the design team using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Office software.

You will work independently and within a multidisciplinary team on projects across Canada and beyond, contributing to drafting standards and project deliverables.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of piping design experience.
• Proficient in CAD/Design software and drafting standards.
• Excellent communication, team collaboration and time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits to verify as-built conditions and gather information for new designs.
• Design development and drafting of tender/construction drawings.
• Develop layouts and bills of materials from sketches provided by the design team.
• Identify interference and develop solutions to minimize materials.
• Provide preliminary P&IDs for clarity on flow, equipment and design parameters.
• Provide design assistance for mechanical systems and equipment selection.
• Review shop drawings and respond to contractor inquiries.
• Follow health & safety, quality and drafting standards.
