Job summary

OCL Group Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support our piping design across Western Canada. You will assist project managers and multi-disciplinary staff, focusing on piping design and related disciplines, with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering Technology with ASET registration and up to 5 years of design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, CADWorx and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Technology and registration with ASET is required.
• 0 to 5 years experience in producing engineering drawings and designs.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings and other similar material.
• Experience producing P&IDs, 3D piping and equipment layouts and piping isometrics.
• Ability to complete 3D designs using AutoCAD or similar software. Plant 3D and Civil 3D are assets; CADWorx experience is an asset.
• Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive.
• Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs project designs using knowledge of relevant codes and software programs.
• Works with other engineering and design disciplines under the direction of senior staff.
• Assists with design duties on projects of various complexity.
• Assists with collecting data and information to support design decisions.
• Assists in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with codes and standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by senior design and engineering staff.
