Responsibilities

  • Receive parts and materials returned by customers and branch offices.
  • Evaluate material condition and drawings to determine repairability.
  • Inspect identified material and ensure proper BOM/drawings for repair.
  • Price repairs, ensure assembly is structured, and document processes in SAP.
  • Set up and troubleshoot lapping machines and perform basic machining operations as needed.
  • Maintain clean work area and proper records for repair orders.
  • Create service notifications and order components as required.

Responsibilities
  • Receives parts and materials returned by customers and branch offices.
  • Evaluates from condition of material, checks current drawing revisions and general product knowledge whether material is repairable or non-repairable.
  • Identifies and inspects material returned.
  • May perform parts structuring, checks cost structure, and determines price of repair, ensures assembly is structured correctly, and price repair.
  • Ensures all components are properly cleaned and free from foreign material per departmental procedures Perform the assembly of the seal once the repair has been released to the shop and all components have been replaced or reconditioned and marked ready for assembly.
  • With limited supervision, repairs returned seal and seal parts.
  • Determines necessary repair operations, ensures BOM (bill of materials) / drawings / repair parts match.
  • Performs simple operations on drill press (single spindle), rotary surface grinder, bead blast polisher and lapping machine.
  • Verifies part specifications with measuring instruments such as micrometer, vernier caliper, dial indicator and optical flats.
  • May Initiate purchase orders for new jobs if vendors are involved.
  • Consults with Engineering or Sales departments as necessary.
  • Maintains necessary records and small inventory of seal parts used for repair orders.
  • Works from factory work orders, prints, rework orders and verbal instructions.
  • Assists newer repair personnel as necessary.
  • Sets up and troubleshoots lapping machines for repair maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean and neat work environment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Create service notifications, order components, and execute shipping and job closeout procedures in SAP software system.
  • Machining on lathe and mill would be an asset.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years of mechanical seal equipment experience/or comparable experience within the refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or upstream markets working on or maintaining equipment and 6 months to 1-year on-the-job training.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
