Job summary

Freudenberg in Milton, Ontario is seeking a Mechanical Seal Repair Technician to join our on-site team. You will receive parts and materials returned by customers, evaluate their condition, and determine repairability.

You will inspect, price, and recondition seal assemblies using a variety of shop equipment to ensure proper assembly and quality. You will work from drawings and shop orders, coordinate with Engineering and Sales as needed, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of mechanical seal equipment experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or upstream markets.
• 6 months to 1 year of on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Receives parts and materials returned by customers and branch offices; evaluates condition and repairability.
• Identifies and inspects returned material and ensures parts/marts match drawings.
• Performs assembly of repaired seal after release and reconditioning of components.
• Maintains records and small inventory of seal parts used for repair orders.
• Create service notifications, order components, and execute SAP procedures.

## Mechanical Seal Repair TechnicianApplylocations: Milton, ONtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R\\_00103778**Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world!**# Responsibilities:* Receives parts and materials returned by customers and branch offices. Evaluates from condition of material, checks current drawing revisions and general product knowledge whether material is repairable or non-repairable.* Identifies and inspects material returned.* May perform parts structuring, checks cost structure, and determines price of repair, ensures assembly is structured correctly, and price repair.* Ensures all components are properly cleaned and free from foreign material per departmental procedures* Perform the assembly of the seal once the repair has been released to the shop and all components have been replaced or reconditioned and marked ready for assembly.* With limited supervision, repairs returned seal and seal parts.* Determines necessary repair operations, ensures BOM (bill of materials) / drawings / repair parts match.* Performs simple operations on drill press (single spindle), rotary surface grinder, bead blast polisher and lapping machine.* Verifies part specifications with measuring instruments such as micrometer, vernier caliper, dial indicator and optical flats.* May Initiate purchase orders for new jobs if vendors are involved.* Consults with Engineering or Sales departments as necessary.* Maintains necessary records and small inventory of seal parts used for repair orders.* Works from factory work orders, prints, rework orders and verbal instructions.* Assists newer repair personnel as necessary.* Sets up and troubleshoots lapping machines for repair maintenance.* Maintains a clean and neat work environment.* Additional duties as assigned.* Create service notifications, order components, and execute shipping and job closeout procedures in SAP software system.* Machining on lathe and mill would be an asset.# Qualifications:* High School Diploma or equivalent.* Minimum 4 years of mechanical seal equipment experience/or comparable experience within the refining, petrochemical, chemical, power, or upstream markets working on or maintaining equipment and 6 months to 1-year on-the-job training.* Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.* Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.* Ability to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.30 The Freudenberg Group is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion.
