Job summary

Schaeffler Canada, a global solutions technology provider, seeks a Field Service Technician to support our Western Canadian Sales Team and customer base.

Role focuses on engineering advisory, product installation, and application support, with travel and field assignments across Canada. Out of town travel up to 50% is required; experience with mechanical engineering or millwright accreditation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Millwright accreditation required or considered with extensive industry experience.
• Extensive industry experience will be considered for the role.
• Out of Town Travel requirement is 50%.

Responsibilities

• Supports sales staff and customers with engineering expertise regarding products, its installation and applications as assigned.
• Provide sales support with engineering expertise regarding products and applications.
• Perform conceptual work for specific customer requirements, and support customers in this respect.
• Assess and interpret technical data, document and communicate findings.
• Initiate measures to develop or adapt product and service concepts to match market requirements.
• Support assembly, installation, setup and utilization of products and systems at customers site if appropriate and necessary.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your Qualifications

Successful applicant should possess either a Mechanical Engineering degree and or a Red/ Blue Seal Millwright accreditation, Extensive Industry experience will also be considered.

Further Information

Out of Town Travel requirement is 50%.

Role Is located in the field and is based out of our technical office or in a SCC (i.e. in Industry), in Edmonton (Leduc), Alberta. This Job is focusing on technical service, application or engineering advisory. Different from Sales Engineer, who is focusing on selling engineered product solutions. Different from Application Development Engineer whose focus is to adapt or change product concepts. It might comprise elements of a Product Manager in certain businesses (e.g. AAM, see last item of accountabilities).
