Job summary

MCW Group of Companies in Toronto is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Engineering Student to join our Downtown Toronto office. This 4–12-month contract offers hands-on experience in mechanical building design and exposure to the consulting industry.

The role starts in May 2027 and involves assisting with HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design, CAD/drafting, and site visits in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• The desire to work in a team-based environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in various facilities.
• Assist Engineers and Designers with the preparation of technical drawings.
• Operate CAD/drafting workstations.
• Participate in site visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our Company is currently seeking a self-motivated, hardworking Mechanical Engineering Student to join our Toronto office. This exciting work integrated learning opportunity offers hands on experience in Mechanical building design. This role would be a 4–12-month contract starting in May 2027.

Position: Mechanical Engineering Student

Start Date:May 2027

Length of Contract: 4, 8, or 12 months (based on the student's availability and co-op/work term requirements)

Location:Downtown Toronto

Hourly Pay Rate: $22.00 - $27.00

The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities
• Assist Engineers and Designers with the preparation of technical drawings
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Participate in site visits.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Engineering, preferably Mechanical
• Working knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT an asset.
