Job summary

MCW Group of Companies seeks a Mechanical Engineering Student for a hands-on role in our Toronto office. This contract position offers real exposure to mechanical building design and coordination with engineers and designers on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

The role includes CAD work, site visits, and collaboration in a team environment, with a January 2027 start and a 4–12 month duration to fit co-op/work terms.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing undergraduate studies in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.
• Working knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and/or REVIT an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Desire to work in a team-based environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Assist Engineers and Designers with the preparation of technical drawings.
• Operate CAD and drafting workstations.
• Participate in site visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our Company is currently seeking a self‑motivated, hardworking Mechanical Engineering Student to join our Toronto office. Located just minutes from Union Station, this is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to grow and develop their professional career in the consulting industry. This exciting work integrated learning opportunity offers hands on experience in Mechanical building design. This role would be a 4-12-month contract starting in January 2027.

Position: Mechanical Engineering Student

Start Date: January2027

Length of Contract: 4, 8, or 12 months (based on the student's availability and co‑op/work term requirements)

Location:Downtown Toronto

Hourly Pay Rate: $22.00 - $27.00

The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with the design of mechanical HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems in commercial, institutional, residential, public and private facilities
• Assist Engineers and Designers with the preparation of technical drawings
• Operate computer‑assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations
• Participate in site visits.
• Other duties as assigned
