Job summary

BGIS Professional Services seeks a Mechanical Engineer to independently manage HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and BAS upgrade projects. The role includes client liaison, design development and construction administration.

The successful candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, a PEng license in Ontario, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Occasional travel across Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or college diploma with 7+ years' consulting experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (PEO) able to stamp drawings.
• Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and BAS upgrades.
• Knowledge of Building Codes, ASHRAE, ASME, CSA and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and team on mechanical system upgrade projects.
• Develop designs, feasibility studies and construction contract administration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement mechanical upgrades.
• Work independently with minimal supervision to complete project assignments.
• Support project managers and architects from start to finish.
