Job summary

BGIS Professional Services seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and work independently on HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and BAS upgrade projects. The role requires strong communication with clients and a solid technical background to start and complete projects.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, design development and construction contract administration for mechanical systems upgrades, while coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or College Diploma with minimum 7 years of consulting industry experience providing mechanical design and engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
• Strong background in HVAC, building controls, plumbing and life-safety systems.
• Knowledge of Provincial/National Building Codes, ASHRAE, ASME, API, ANSI, CSA, etc.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel throughout Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide client communication and coordination, design development, and construction contract administration for mechanical systems upgrade projects.
• Provide feasibility and assessment studies related to HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and BAS upgrades.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop short and long-term recommendations, design and construction implementation.
• The Mechanical Engineer must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete project assignments.
• Support Project Delivery Services Project Managers and Workplace Solutions Architects from project initiation to completion.
