Job summary

Boundary Equipment, part of Boundary Group, seeks a Mechanical Engineer, EIT, or Engineering Technologist to design, inspect, and support large mining components. The role spans SolidWorks/AutoCAD modeling, dimensional inspection, shop floor, and field work.

Ideal candidates have mining equipment or heavy machinery experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams, trades, suppliers, and customers to deliver manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on technical capability and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate with engineers, tradespeople, suppliers, customers, and business partners.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical work.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Reverse engineer components using dimensional inspection, measurement, scanning, and analysis.
• Support engineering, shop, and field teams to resolve manufacturing and repair challenges.
• Contribute to product development, quality control, and field performance improvements.
• Provide documentation and technical information to purchasing and production teams.
