Conuma Resources invites applications for a Mining Engineer in Training (EIT) to gain extensive hands-on, field-based experience across active surface mines in Northeastern British Columbia. You will rotate through operational and technical disciplines, taking on increasing responsibility while learning from Professional Engineers and experienced teams.

The program emphasizes boots-on-the-ground learning, mentorship, and development toward a Professional Engineer designation, with strong focus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Registered as an Engineer in Training (EIT) working toward P.Eng.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Willingness to work in a field-based mining environment.
• Interest in developing both technical and leadership capabilities.
• Experience in surface mining or heavy industrial operations is an asset.
• UAV/RPAS certification or drone experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and technical survey work, including layout and volume calculations for mine planning.
• Support drill and blast activities with pattern design and loading instructions.
• Develop and adjust short-range mine plans and production priorities.
• Conduct geotechnical inspections and data analysis for ground control.
• Provide hands-on engineering support to frontline supervisors and crews.
• Lead safety meetings, inspections, audits, and incident investigations as appropriate.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Document work and prepare technical reports to support operations and development.
