A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Training to support various projects under guidance. This role involves evaluating and specifying mining systems, assisting senior engineers, and engaging in fieldwork. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and knowledge of CAD software. The role of a Mechanical Engineer in Training is to work on projects of all sizes under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer. You will learn to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer mining systems. You will perform a variety of tasks which will include calculations and potential field work requiring travel.
The mechanical engineer in training will assist more senior engineers and progressively take on more independent work as experience is gained. The successful candidate will take part in Stantec Mining’s mentoring program, which will provide the candidate with a broad range of experience in all aspects of project delivery under the guidance of a senior member of the organization.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from an engineering program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather and may involve travel outside of normal working hours.

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
