AMYLIOR INC. in Sherbrooke is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design, document, and validate seating products. You will create drawings, models, and assemblies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate and meet user needs on site in Sherbrooke.

The role requires a DEP/DEC or equivalent in technical drafting, at least two years in manufacturing, and proficiency in SolidWorks. French fluency is essential; English is an asset. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Responsibilities

Job description

Sherbrooke

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design, definition, and documentation of standard and custom seating products. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that meet users’ needs while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Sherbrooke.

Responsibilities
  • Create drawings, models, and assemblies required for the definition, validation, and documentation of standard and custom products
  • Contribute to product development and continuous improvement by proposing innovative solutions that meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Participate in the development of test protocols and design the required test fixtures
  • Assemble and evaluate prototypes, document issues encountered, and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure the feasibility of product concepts
Required Skills
  • Vocational diploma (DEP), college diploma (DEC), or equivalent education in technical drafting, industrial design, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of document management and project tracking tools (Excel, Word, and Gantt charts)
  • Fluency in French, both spoken and written; English is considered an asset
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work effectively in a cross-functional environment
