Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Mechanical engineer/designer to join the Development Engineering Service Team in Bolton, Ontario. The role focuses on resolving service issues across machines, molds, hot runners, controllers, and auxiliaries, applying a systematic 8D problem solving process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and strong presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
• Experience with Unigraphics and/or other 3D CAD software.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a cohesive team.
• Cross discipline interaction, communication and technical knowledge.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Demonstrated learning abilities and research capabilities.
• Mechanical design experience and solid mechanical aptitude.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and assembly practices.
• Knowledge of plastic processing technology is an asset.
• Knowledge of hot runners and associated equipment is an asset.
• Experience in design, maintenance, service and troubleshooting of heavy industrial machinery is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze service data to fully understand and define the problem.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary collaboration and project meetings.
• Assist with root-cause analyses and permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and implement resolutions through design modifications and documentation.
• Provide field retrofit design solutions and service bulletins.
• Support product development with technical input and risk assessment.
• Communicate updates at service issue review meetings.
