Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Designer, Development (Tooling) in Bolton, ON. You will work with engineers and design specialists to develop injection molding tooling and drive product development with strong leadership and a focus on design quality.

Key duties include creating concept designs, performing analyses, and mentoring teammates. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and adherence to design standards to deliver robust tooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of design execution and project leadership experience.
• Extensive experience with injection molding tooling development.
• Strong modeling/detailing capabilities and engineering calculations.
• Proficient in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturability and assembly processes.
• Experience sizing and selecting components (motors, bearings, sensors, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop injection molding tooling concepts within a formal product development process.
• Apply engineering principles to tooling design and material selection.
• Create system-level designs including CAD layouts and function block diagrams.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamics calculations; support tolerance stack-up.
• Lead design reviews, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and design standards; participate in FMEA.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical, Software, Validation, and Manufacturing.
