Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of design execution experience in a related industry.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Expert in modeling and detailing techniques.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Experience with large automated machinery is an asset.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Engineers/Design Specialists in the development of new products.
• Apply scientific/engineering principles in the design of machines.
• Create system-level concept designs in various levels of detail including function block diagrams, CAD layouts, functional decomposition.
• Sizing and selection of components (motors, sensors, bearings, gearboxes, pneumatic/hydraulic components).
• Optimize design based on manufacturing processes (DFM), assembly and test.
• Perform calculations and analysis (structural FEA, thermal, dynamics, tolerance stack-up).
• Detailed drawings and GD&T application and tolerance analysis.
• Modify and maintain Husky design standards.
• Lead design reviews and mentoring within area of expertise.
• Drive product development and release processes and design risk mitigation.
