Job description

Mechanical Assembler:

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides Engineering expertise in the Aerospace and Defense industry. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler for our client located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparing material for welding using various processes, including chemical etching.
2. Performing drill press operations (drill, tap and read to drawing specification, counterbore and countersink, sharpen drill bits).
3. Installing bushings and bearings, helicoils and rivets.
4. Setting up and testing assembled products as required by test procedures.
5. Operating brake press, punch press, drills (radial and spindle), shear, saw(s).

Expectations:

1. Must have a minimum of 5 years industrial fabricating/fitting experience, or assembly experience and must be able to assemble complex, high precision machined components to drawing requirements in an accurate and cost-effective manner.
2. Must have the potential to fabricate and/or assemble complete tube assemblies and hydraulic assemblies to drawings and hydraulic schematics.
3. Experience setting up and running both conventional and programmable brake presses is an asset.
4. Must be able to read and work from work orders and engineering drawings.
5. Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, plate clamps, slings, and chains.
6. Experience working with height gauges, dial indicators, steel squares, tape rules, angle plates, layout tables, micrometers and verniers, radius gauges, thread gauges, protractors and combination squares, gauge blocks and parallels.
7. Proficient in the use of electric and pneumatic tools, riveting tools, helicoil insert tools, tapping machines, bench grinders, circular saws, jig saws, portable nibbler, band saws, and cut-off saws.
