Job summary

A leading company in manufacturing is looking for a full-time tooling technician to support production by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various tooling equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and tooling machinery skills, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment while assisting in product development activities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with tooling machinery.
  • Knowledge of welding and brazing.

Job description

The incumbent will support production by conducting timely preventative maintenance and repairs on existing tooling and works on preparing new tooling and fixtures. Willingness to wear multiple hats and be a team player in a fast-paced start up environment.

Responsibilities:

· Repair and modify molds, jigs, dies and fixtures by welding, milling, grinding, polishing, and other techniques and tools. Disassemble and reassemble as required.

· Conduct preventative maintenance on molds, tools, dies, and fixtures as required.

· Grind Tools for custom requirements

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other instructions

· Inspect and measure incoming tools and dies per quality specification, calibrate tools as required

· Handle Cleaning, drilling, reaming, boring, polishing, deburring, and grinding of Aluminum parts

· Maintain shop equipment to ensure they are working safely and per the manufacturer's specifications

· Assist with product development activities, including sample making

· Assist with tool changeover and setup on production machines

· Works on special projects as directed by the management team.

· Contributes to team effort by taking on added tasks as required.

· Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of all data

· Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety meetings

· Lead and maintain a safe, secure, enjoyable professional working environment.

Qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and organizational skills

· Strong Knowledge of different Tooling Machinery and usage, including Milling Machines, Lathes, Drilling Machines, Band saws, and Grinders

· Knowledge of welding and Brazing

· Affable, fair and firm with 5+ years of experience

· Ability to lift and maneuver heavy weights

· Attention to detail and reporting activities

· Self-motivating with a positive attitude

· Ability to work independently and problem solve

Typical working conditions:

· Schedule may change depending on business requirements. Monday to Friday.

· Manufacturing plant with continuous interaction on the manufacturing floor where PPE is required.
