The Mechanical Systems Assembler will report to the Production Manager and assist in the assembly of Medical Air and Vacuum Systems including compressors, dryers, vacuum systems, dual supply assemblies, inlet stations, and vacuum traps.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain a Safety First mindset - ensure health and safety policies and procedures are met before, during, and after system manufacture and assembly
- Keep work area clean
- Report any unsafe work conditions or hazards, missing / defective equipment, and / or missing / defective protection devices
- Review and thoroughly understand all drawings and build specifications to verify project requirements, parts availability, etc.
- Cut, punch, tap, notch and stamp aluminum or steel sub assemblies for Medical (Gas & Air) Supply Units Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts to form sub assemblies or finished Medical Supply Units using hand and power tools
- Use electrical drawings to assist in the assembly of electronics / electrical and electro-mechanical systems as needed and work with Electrical Panel Assemblers and Engineering to position, align, and adjust mechanical parts for proper fit and function
- Label parts and systems according to all procedural and / or legislated requirements
- Assist colleagues as needed in the assembly of architectural, secondary, or electrical systems Check inventory for consumables to maintain stock levels
- Participate in inventory management process for cycle counts and annual inventory processes Assist in building skids and crates to package completed Medical System Units for safe shipping Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Completion of OSSD or equivalent required
- Post secondary training in Mechanical or Electro-mechanical field considered an asset
- Minimum - years practical knowledge & hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment building and testing mechanical and / or electrical equipment
- Ability to read detailed schematics
- Experienced in using construction equipment (power tools) required Forklift and / or TSSA Brazing Certification considered and asset
- A 'customer first' attitude
- Self motivated, process driven, and results orientated professional
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate in a team oriented atmosphere with assemblers, technicians, warehouse, and engineering colleagues
- Knowledge and experience of health and safety practices Ability to lift pounds required
