Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Diesel Mechanic at the Edmonton North Depot to inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy duty equipment. The role offers a full benefits package after a 6-month waiting period and a wage of $49.01 per hour, with standard Monday–Friday hours.

Requirements include a valid Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic license, AZ/Class 1 license with a clean abstract, and at least 3 years of experience in diesel mechanics. English proficiency is essential for communications with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals
• Assist with entering data in the mechanic's maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant)
• Communicates concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager
• Responds to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers

Description

Location: Edmonton North Depot, 17718 114 Avenue

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 10:00-18:30 (40 hours per week)

Wage: $49.01 per hour

Full benefits package available after 6 month waiting period

The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on-/off-road and heavy duty equipment to ensure proper function and vehicle safety and meet quality and performance goals.

Assist with entering data in the mechanic's maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA))
Communicates concerns or escalates unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager
Responds to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License (Class 5 minimum, class 1 preferred)
• Clear driver's abstract that meets Purolator's insurance requirements.
• Must be able to perform annual safeties (CVIP)
• Must successfully pass road test(s)
• Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required

Education

Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license
Valid "AZ/Class 1" class driver's license with a clear driver's abstract that meets Purolator's insurance requirements.
3 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.

Experience

Minimum 3 years experience as a Diesel mechanic required
