Job summary

Purolator Inc. is seeking a skilled Licensed Electrician to maintain, diagnose, test and repair material handling equipment (MHE) at our Etobicoke facility. You will ensure equipment uptime and safety through preventative maintenance, timely repairs, and clear reporting.

Required: 442A Electrician license, 5+ years in MHE maintenance, and English proficiency for cross-functional communication with teams on site in a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in preventive maintenance of material handling equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical faults on MHE.
• Experience with CMMS or similar systems for work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative and predictive maintenance on MHE to keep equipment in safe, reliable condition.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical failures to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and monitor facilities and equipment related to material handling.
• Prepare and maintain safety and operational reports.
• Coordinate and document work orders in CMMS.

Description

The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair in compliance with health and safety standards
• Diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime to reduce downstream impact to service delivery
• Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities
• Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational)
• Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Education

• Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges Consisting of About Three Academic Years
• A Licensed Electrician Certificate (442A) is required

Experience

• 5 years of experience as an electrician that installs, maintains, diagnoses, or repairs Material Handling Equipment.
