Job summary

The Miller Group is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to service and repair our light and heavy equipment, hydraulics, and electrical systems. You will diagnose problems, perform preventative maintenance, and keep accurate service records.

Outdoor work and on-call shifts in winter are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 310T Truck & Coach Technician License (421A may be considered) is required.
• Valid G license is required.
• Experience repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Must possess own set of tools.
• Comfortable working outdoors in any season.
• DZ license is an asset.
• Roadside service experience.
• Experience with diagnostic software and electronic timekeeping.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Valid Ozone Depletion Training.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain all equipment including light vehicles, heavy trucks and hydraulics/electrical systems.
• Diagnose and rectify on-site/off-site repairs; perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain daily service documentation for shop organization.
• Promote safety-first culture and assist in decision making for outside repairs.
• Be on-call during winter months; potential night/weekend/holiday shifts with premiums.

Day in the Life

You will be the backbone of our fleet, responsible for servicing and maintaining all of our equipment, including light vehicles, heavy trucks and equipment, hydraulics, electrical and heavy power trains. Each day will be different as some service calls are off site or require emergency on-road repairs requiring you to diagnose and rectify the problem. Preventative and predictive maintenance will be important to stay on top of, as well as daily service documentation to ensure overall organization of the shop.

Safety will always be your number one priority as you promote, lead, and execute a safety-first culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants. Your opinion will be valued as you assist in decision making for any outside repairs to the equipment as well as support for overall general shop maintenance. You will be an essential part of our team ensuring our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently, like a well-oiled machine.

During the winter months, our plows run 24/7, so willingness to remain on call and work some weeknights, weekends, and holidays will be required. Different shift options are available with premiums.

Compensation Data

$25.50 - $42.50/hr (depending on level and License)
