Sobeys Inc. is seeking a Specialty Meat Counter Clerk to deliver excellent customer service and assist in preparing and presenting specialty meats. You will be part of a team behind the counter, helping create a positive in-store experience for customers.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, stocking displays, using knives and scales, and ensuring clean, safe work areas. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Greet customers and assist with meat selections and questions.
• Maintain and rotate specialty meat displays per company standards.
• Handle knives and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and package specialty meat products for sale.
• Receive, stock and rotate products throughout shifts.
• Ensure accurate pricing and clean, sanitary work areas.

As a Specialty Meat Counter Clerk, you’re responsible for delivering great customer service and preparing and presenting specialty meats. You’ll be part of a team behind some of our best-selling products, helping create a strong in-store experience for customers.

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Maintaining and building merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
• Use of commercial power equipment and knives
• Displays of specialty meats and seafood
• Preparing pre-made specialty meat products
• Receiving, stocking and rotating product
• Use of hand wrapper, and scale, pricing meats
• Cleaning and sanitizing

• Physical Requirements (Seldom: Not Daily, Rare: 0-5% of shift, Occasional: 6-33% of shift, Frequent: 34-66% of shift, Constant: 66-100% of shift)
• Constant lifting of up to 20 pounds
• Occasional lifting of between 20-60 pounds
• Constant gripping
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, twisting, carrying, pushing or pulling
• Exposure to cold temperatures
