School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay) seeks a Math/Science Teacher for Grades 8-10 at Fernie Secondary School. This 0.857 FTE temporary position runs from Sept 9, 2026 to Jan 29, 2027, and work is on site.

Applicants must have a degree or formal training and teaching experience in Math and Science at the secondary level; BC Teacher Certification is preferred. The assignment includes Grade 8 Math/Science, Grade 9 Math/Science and Grade 10 Science, with a competitive benefits package.

Contract Type: Part-time Temporary (0.857 FTE)

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $60,325 to $102,143, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

0.857 FTE temporary contract, starting September 9, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to January 29, 2027.

This position is scheduled to include Grade 8 Math/Science, Grade 9 Math/Science and Grade 10 Science. Please note that all work will be on site.
