Steeples Elementary School in Cranbrook, BC is seeking a Grade 1/2 Teacher for a 0.404 FTE temporary contract beginning Sep 15, 2026 and ending Jun 25, 2027, with on-site duties on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Candidates must have a degree or training in primary education and BC Teacher Certification; consideration given to teaching experience at the primary level.

Qualifications

Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $28,438 to $47,918, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Job Summary

Grade 1/2 Teacher

0.404 FTE temporary contract, starting September 15, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to June 25, 2027, or return of the incumbent.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Primary level.

This position is scheduled for full days on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please note that all work will be on site.

Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
