Job summary

Englobe in North Bay, Canada, is seeking a Materials Testing Technician for a full-time, 4-month contract. You will conduct on-site testing of soils, asphalt, and concrete, and prepare field reports documenting equipment used, test locations, and results.

The role requires handling samples up to 25 kg, participating in team meetings (potentially after hours), and supporting laboratory work and equipment calibration.

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience in quality control of soils and materials on construction sites is an asset.
  • Demonstrate an interest in and sensitivity to occupational health and safety.
  • Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of field reports documenting equipment used, test locations, and results.
  • Attending regular staff meetings (potentially after-hours).
  • Assist with laboratory testing as needed.
  • Assist with equipment calibration and building maintenance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.

This is a full-time, 4-month contract position

The salary range for this position is $40,807 to $53,560 CAD base per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications, their positioning within our internal compensation structure, and relevant geographic cost-of-living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.

Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit. We aim to foster transparency, respect candidate time and ensure equitable compensation aligned with our company values.
