Job summary

Englobe is seeking a dedicated environmental professional to support fieldwork across multiple environmental projects. You will conduct sampling of groundwater, surface water, potable water, and sediments, while strictly following health and safety policies.

The position requires travel, outdoor work year-round, and collaboration with a dynamic team. Eligible candidates hold relevant education or equivalent experience and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0–3 years experience as environmental consultant in drilling and test pitting, soil and groundwater sampling required.
  • Experience with Phase I/II ESAs reporting; soil management is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel provincially or nationally to project sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Able to work outdoors year-round, 3–5 days/week; some overtime and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and adhere to Englobe’s health and safety policies on project sites.
  • Perform environmental fieldwork: sampling groundwater, surface water, potable water, sediments.
  • Coordinate drilling and test pit programs, geotechnical fieldwork.
  • Document field activities and prepare technical reports.
  • Prepare lab chains of custody and coordinate sample submissions.
  • Manage and maintain field equipment including calibration and maintenance.
  • Apply regulatory requirements for excess soils and environmental compliance.
  • Support project execution with administrative tasks, including timesheets.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Apply, promote, and strictly adhere to Englobe’s health and safety policies on all project sites and work locations;
  • Perform environmental fieldwork, including sampling of groundwater, surface water, potable water, and sediments;
  • Coordinate and carry out environmental drilling and test pit programs, including geotechnical and integrated geo-environmental fieldwork;
  • Document field activities, compile data, and prepare technical reports using established templates;
  • Prepare laboratory chains of custody, maintain detailed field records, and coordinate sample submissions to laboratories;
  • Manage, maintain, and operate field equipment, including calibration, charging, and routine maintenance;
  • Apply regulatory requirements and guidelines related to excess soils, contaminated sites, and environmental compliance;
  • Support project execution through required administrative tasks, including timesheet completion.
What Makes You Unique
  • Hold post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience);
  • 0 to 3 years experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples required;
  • Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset;
  • Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required;
  • Be eligible to obtain Federal Government security clearance; active Reliability or Secret clearance is considered a strong asset;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements in field environments;
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle;
  • Be available to work outdoors in field environments year-round, typically 3–5 days per week, with flexibility for schedule changes, travel, and occasional overtime;
  • Travel locally and as required, provincially or nationally to urban and remote project sites.

The salary range for this position is $47,934$ to $62,913 CAD base per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications, their positioning within our internal compensation structure, and relevant geographic cost-of-living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.

Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit. We aim to foster transparency, respect candidate time and ensure equitable compensation aligned with our company values.
