Job summary

Suncor in Mount Pearl, NL is seeking a Materials Management Advisor to oversee safe, efficient warehouse operations and lead a team of employees and third-party providers.

You will drive continuous improvement, ensure material availability, and enforce standards while collaborating with stakeholders to remove barriers and reduce costs. This office-based role offers strong growth opportunities and a focus on safety and performance.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years related work experience with degree or equivalent combination of 3 years of leadership and management related experience.
• Post-secondary business or supply chain management or journeyman parts ticket with experience in warehouse / inventory management.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of materials management processes and procedures.
• Experience working in oil and gas industry is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support warehouse personnel and third-party service providers to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Oversee warehouse, inventory management, and material fulfillment activities while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations
• Monitor operational performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Resolve receiving issues, including discrepancies, damaged materials, and delivery accuracy concerns
• Ensure effective material handling and maintain the care, custody, and control of inventory at all times
• Partner with stakeholders and service providers to remove barriers, improve performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Support operational discipline by addressing complex issues, escalating concerns when necessary, and assisting with training and implementation of new initiatives
• Maintain a visible presence in the field, foster employee engagement, and participate in emergency response and cross-functional problem-solving activities
