Job summary

Suncor Energy is seeking a Materials Management Advisor in St. John’s, NL to oversee safe, efficient warehouse operations and lead a team of employees and third-party providers.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, resolving discrepancies, and driving cost-saving improvements while maintaining strict compliance with company standards and regulations. This is an office-based role at 10 Corisande Dr, Mount Pearl, NL, with a standard 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years related work experience with degree or equivalent combination of 3 years of leadership and management related experience.
• Post-secondary business or supply chain management or journeyman parts ticket with experience in warehouse / inventory management.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of materials management processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support warehouse personnel and third-party service providers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Oversee warehouse, inventory management, and material fulfillment activities while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Monitor operational performance through KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Resolve receiving issues, including discrepancies, damaged materials, and delivery accuracy concerns.
• Ensure effective material handling and maintain the care, custody, and control of inventory at all times.
• Partner with stakeholders and service providers to remove barriers, improve performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support operational discipline by addressing complex issues, escalating concerns when necessary, and assisting with training and implementation of new initiatives.
• Maintain a visible presence in the field, foster employee engagement, and participate in emergency response and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
