Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Milton, ON, Canada is seeking a Material Handler Operator I. The role involves unloading, picking, sorting, scanning and wrapping orders, and moving goods with carts and pallet jacks.

You will maintain inventory accuracy, follow safety policies, and deliver excellent service to internal and external customers. This full-time position offers Monday–Friday shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with hourly pay of $19.25.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate moving equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Unload, pick, sort, wrap and scan customer orders.
• Operate carts, dollies, and power hand trucks to move merchandise.
• Perform 5S duties and follow safety policies.
• Receive, store and distribute materials within the area.
• Prepare and assemble orders and stage goods.
• Sort materials by size, type and product code.
• Complete forms and labels to ensure accurate inventory.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Comply with operations requirements as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

YOUR ROLE

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

• Unloading, picking, sorting, diverting, scanning and wrapping customer orders
• Operating carts, dollies, power hand trucks and other moving equipment in order to move large quantities of merchandise
• 5s duties
• Adhere to CEVA's Policies and Procedures (Quality Management and Safety & Compliance)
• Comply with operations requirements as necessary
• Performs various manual labor functions such as picking inventory, counting cargo, product and material and hand staging and loading goods; uses manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.
• Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.
• Prepares and assembles orders, moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, pallets or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, product code and related characteristics; tend to be more routine or typical.
• Completes or verifies appropriate forms, documents, labels and other information to ensure the accuracy of inventory, monitor and track material and successful receiving and/or delivery of goods; tends to basic information or standard in nature.
• Develops and maintains excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times, such as working collaboratively, providing timely communications and instruction and assisting with operations as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
