Job summary

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for effectively and efficiently transferring parts to and from the production line to point of use (POU), receiving, shipping, kitting, and primary areas in the plant and directly to the POU on the shop floor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Operate forklift, walkie rider, and other material handling equipment to move parts to point of use on production floor. Expedite parts when needed.
  • Set up material storage racks, bins, carts, etc. for proper storage online to prevent damage or loss.
  • Create and maintain bins and drop areas for part deliveries and removal.
  • Support assembly technicians in lifting and moving of materials on production floor.
  • Accurately count parts and cycle count parts when directed, and file rejected parts daily.
  • Record part shortage information in appropriate areas and leadership.
  • Receive work direction from department leader.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Attention to detail is critical for this position.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn and successfully obtain a forklift license, and overhead crane operations and basic computer skills including Oracle system.
  • A requirement to hold a valid driver’s license or successfully complete New Flyer’s lift truck program – operator medical form (available in Human Resources).
