Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Material Handler, Associate for the 3:30 pm – 12:00 midnight shift. You will support Materials Handling and Inventory Control, processing materials, stocking, picking, and cycle counts while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Qualifications include a secondary school education with 0-2 years of warehouse experience and SAP familiarity. Strong teamwork, prioritization, and customer service skills are essential.

• Some secondary school education and 0-2 years of warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with SAP would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• In Materials Handling, process material from receiving to consumption in manufacturing, using established procedures.
• Deliver material to stockrooms and maintain First-in-first-out policy.
• Perform kitting and order-picking functions, train others as required, and suggest process improvements.
• In Inventory Control, maintain inventory accuracy, perform counts and investigations, resolve shortages, and document transactions.
• Arrange storage of finished goods and ensure secure handling and documentation.

As part of the Materials team, working under general supervision, carry out semi-routine tasks in support of both the Materials Handling and Inventory Control functions. Works with clearly established procedures to perform duties.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary Range: $35,300 - $47,100 plus 10% shift premium

Your Challenge:

In Materials Handling, the focus is on the processing of material from the time it arrives in receiving until it is consumed in manufacturing. Tasks may include:

• Processing material at count areas

• Delivery of material to stockrooms, including verification and maintaining First-in-first-out policy

• Perform variety of kitting and order picking functions

• Maintaining policies and procedures, training others as required

• Recommend process improvements

• Perform Cycle Count activities

In Inventory Control, the focus is on maintenance of inventory accuracy, performing inventory counts and investigations, analyzing and resolving shortages, ensuring all transactions and documentation are completed in an accurate and timely fashion. This role is also responsible for the accurate and secure storage of finished goods. Tasks may include, but not limited to:

• Picking kits and delivering raw and semi-finished materials to the production floor

• Putting stock away in the warehouse

• Preparing all related documents in strict accordance with current corporate procedures

• Cycle count inventory

• Resolving discrepancies, and recommending changes to processes to reduce future discrepancies

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment

What You Bring:
