Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Ottawa is seeking a Hardware Compliance Specialist, Lead – onsite, to drive EMI/EMC compliance across embedded products. You will partner with design teams and establish lab capabilities to de-risk designs for formal testing.

The role demands 8+ years of compliance experience, hands-on measurement and debugging, and strong teamwork. A degree in Electrical/Mechatronics is required. Ottawa-based position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 8+ years of compliance experience for EMI/EMC in Industrial, MIL, or Aerospace electronics.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC optimization and signal filtering, grounding, chassis features.
  • Hands-on measurement, debugging, and problem solving.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Team player who leads by example and supports process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Join design team to meet EMI/EMC goals for Curtiss-Wright products.
  • Analyze requirements, provide compliance review, identify risk.
  • Establish internal lab capabilities to de-risk designs for compliance testing.
  • Perform de-risking activities, on-site or offsite as needed.
  • Coordinate and witness formal compliance activities at external labs.
  • Provide input to design reviews to achieve compliant designs.
  • Generate reports summarizing test results.

Salary Range: $90,300 - $140,000 plus bonus opportunity

Your Challenge:
  • Become a key contributing member of the design team to meet EMI/EMC goals on Curtiss-Wright products.
  • Analyze requirements, provide compliance review and identify risk.
  • Establish internal lab capabilities to de-risk designs for formal compliance testing.
  • Perform de-risking activities, may be internal or offsite.
  • Coordinate and witness formal compliance activities, typically at external offsite laboratories.
  • Provide input to design and reviews in support of successful compliance.
  • Generate reports to capture tests performed and summarize results.
  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.
What you Bring:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of compliance experience providing design guidance, and hands on lab testing for products that meet relevant standards in Industrial, MIL, or Aerospace electronic design.
  • Works directly with the design teams to achieve designs optimized for EMI/EMC performance targeting signal filtering, grounding, mechanical chassis features for best design practice.
  • A strong understanding and familiarity with relevant industry standards which include:
