Job summary

Tigercat Industries in Paris, ON is seeking a Material Handler to manage material flow, unload shipments, and organize storage areas. The role includes loading outgoing shipments, inspecting materials for damage, and reporting issues.

Work involves close collaboration with multiple departments and a dedicated day shift 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. Ideal candidates will have forklift experience, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic plant

Responsibilities

  • Unload shipments and organize materials in storage areas.
  • Load outgoing shipments onto trucks and inspect materials for damage.
  • Maintain 5S in storage areas and locate parts as needed.
  • Follow schedules, shipping documents, and drawings.
  • Communicate with project managers and supervisors about production timelines.

Job description

As theMaterial Handler, you will help manag e the flow of goods by unload ing shipments and organizing materials in designated storage areas . Additionally, you w ill also load outgoing shipments onto trucks , inspect materials for damage or defects, and report any issues. You will be in close communication with various departments within the organization .

Location:160 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON

Dedicated Day Shift:7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday

Job Duties:
  • Safely and efficiently move raw materials and finished products between departments, maintaining the flow of production
  • Perform daily inspection of material handling equipment ( eg , f orklift, w alkie ) , and report any minor or major damage to the equipment
  • Organize and maintain 5S in storage areas both within the plant and outside
  • Review paperwork to locate parts and transport them to departments throughout the plant
  • Follow written directions and interpret schedules, shipping documents , and drawings
  • Communicate with project managers and supervisors to understand production schedules
Skills and Experience:
  • Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Effective organization, problem-solving , and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
  • Physical requirements include driving (90%), standing, and climbing
  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systemsarean asset
  • Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside
Qualifications
  • Previous material handling experience in an industrial setting
  • Prior forklift training and experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multi-task
