Job summary

Ryerson in Canada is seeking a Material Handler to support our operations team. You will handle day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments using standard equipment, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday on rotating shifts (2:00pm–10:00pm and 6:00am–2:00pm). The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of related experience, basic math and computer skills, and the physical ability to meet the exam requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience preferred.

• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders.
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.

• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed.
• Completing paperwork and SAP work orders for shipping/receiving.
• Maximize productivity for finished goods creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Material Handler at Ryerson, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position will work Monday through Friday on a rotating shift every 2 weeks; 2:00pm - 10:00pm and 6:00am - 2:00pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
