Job summary

Ryerson Canada in Winnipeg is seeking a Material Handler to support daily staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments using appropriate equipment. The role focuses on accuracy, safety, and timely processing in a fast-paced metals environment.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm. Requires at least 1 year of similar experience; forklift and overhead crane experience preferred; basic math and computer skills; ability to pass vision/hearing/mobility requirements.

As a Material Handler at Ryerson, you will be responsible for day-to-day staging, packing, and picking material for shipments using proper equipment.

This position will work Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Picking and staging feedstock for fulfillment orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift and overhead crane to move material as needed
• Proper completion of paperwork and SAP work order confirmation for shipping/receiving on the computer
• Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of similar job experience required
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility
