Job description

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Material and Production Planner who will be responsible for master planning and detailed scheduling in a food manufacturing environment. Their planning development takes into account demand and business objectives, requiring coordination of processes, resources, constraints and planning rules to develop feasible and attainable schedules. The ideal candidates will possess critical and lateral thinking and excellent communication skills demonstrating active collaboration with all internal stakeholders. Experience - Material and Production Planner

  • 4+ years experience in material planning / production scheduling, ideally in batch manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, operations, and supply chain fundamentals.
  • Batch manufacturing experience is critical, together with Food, GMP / HACCP.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and negotiation skills - willing to call and speak to stakeholders.
  • Expert level Excel skills for a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP based replenishment processes.
  • Sound knowledge of ERP logic and methodology (MS Dynamics AX ideal)
  • Sound time management skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of resource and constraint planning.

Responsibilities - Material and Production Planner

  • Develop production schedules in accordance with demand and operational parameters and constraints.
  • Review production load profiles; identify, and report resource / capacity constraints.
  • Monitor production plans to ensure customer order fulfilment and on-time delivery.
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager to optimize throughput.
  • Generate daily or nelly production reports to managers for critical decision-making purposes.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Technician to ensure alignment between production schedule(s) and material plan.
  • Monitor and maintain bill of materials (BOM) and planning parameter accuracy within the ERP system.
  • Monitor finished goods inventory levels against agreed target levels / minimize obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to further develop and enhance planning processes, procedures and tools.
