Marketing Strategist – Calgary Municipal Land Corporation

Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) was incorporated in 2007 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary to implement and execute the Rivers District Community Revitalization Plan and to unlock the tremendous value of hundreds of acres at the river’s edge.

Since then, CMLC has invested over $400 million into delivery of the East Village master plan, which envisions a mixed‑use, high‑density urban community that will be home to 11,500 residents. CMLC is also expanding its mandate to include the development of Transit‑Oriented Communities beyond the Rivers District and to support the City of Calgary’s housing strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management to support campaign and brand initiatives, ensuring smooth workflow and timely, accurate delivery
  • Development of marketing briefs that coordinate initiatives across inter‑departmental team members
  • Campaign execution, performance reporting, and recommendations to optimize performance
  • Analyze insights, trends, and marketing best practices to identify opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to optimize results
  • Brand messaging development in accordance with brand standards and audience expectations
  • Website and digital content planning, review, and approvals
Required Qualifications
  • Possess post‑secondary education/degree in marketing and/or communications or equivalent
  • 6‑8 years of relevant marketing, agency, and/or project management experience
  • Experience in construction, design, land, or real‑estate development industry considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of social strategy, best practices, and digital platforms and tools
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and Google Ads
  • Experience working within CMS environments (Squarespace, Sanity, or similar)
  • Familiarity with project management software (Asana, Monday.com, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices for web publishing of news, blogs, and project updates
Preferred Skills
  • Marketing aptitude and systems thinking
  • Audience adaptation and internal workflow organization
  • Experience liaising with marketing agencies and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency with additional programs such as Figma, Mailchimp, and Sprout Social
  • Comfort managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment with a high level of urgency and attention to detail
