Scope of the Position:

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you are a creative marketing and communications professional with experience crafting clear and compelling content. You have a knack for copywriting in support of marketing campaigns that drive customer acquisition. You posses exceptional communication skills with quality of work and attention to detail at the forefront of everything you do.

As a Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing communication plans working collaboratively across a diverse team of specialists. You will research and communicate technical product information through various channels including web, print, video, social and email. You will produce engaging content whether it is text, visual or auditory, for both internal and external audiences.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, implement and continuously improve communications/marketing activities.
  • Maintain a high volume of quality content for all promotional materials and write ad copy for marketing campaigns customized to the audience and medium of communication.
  • Implement internal communications strategy including revamping the company intranet, writing bi-monthly corporate newsletters, interviewing and producing employee profiles, and spearheading an employee ambassador program.
  • Research, plan and execute on specific communication initiatives including writing content for the company website, infographics and blog.
  • Provide front-end web support to maintain all webpages and ensure content uses best practices in keyword planning and search engine optimization.
  • Leverage digital insights (e.g. Google Analytics) to inform topics and direction of content creation.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns and editorial calendar on a regular basis.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of all communication strategies and come up with innovative solutions to better share our message and brand.
  • Adhere to the company communications style guide to produce high-quality, error free content.
  • Other duties as required.

Education & Training:

  • Diploma or degree with a specialization in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or similar field.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Previous experience with Content Management Systems considered an asset.
  • Experience creating engaging intranet content. SharePoint intranet publishing is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Expert in AP writing style and superb verbal, writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Photo and video editing skills are considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Three to five years experience in a similar role.
