Job description

Marketing + Proposal Coordinator
Location: Vancouver, BC | Full-Time, In-Studio
Salary: $60,000–$80,000 CAD

Next Step Recruitment is leading a confidential search on behalf of a renowned architecture firm based in Vancouver. This firm is internationally recognized for designing spaces that serve the public good—theaters, universities, libraries, and community buildings—with a focus on cultural relevance, environmental responsiveness, and timeless design integrity. Their portfolio spans both iconic landmarks and quietly transformative projects, unified by a commitment to human-centered placemaking and architectural excellence.

We’re looking for a Marketing + Proposal Coordinator to join their high-performing team. This is a full-time, in-office role—embedded in the creative studio environment—supporting strategic growth through high-impact proposals, sharp written and visual communication, and well-organized marketing operations. You'll work closely with a senior marketing lead to support major pursuits, shape compelling narratives, and uphold the visual and verbal voice of the firm.

Why This Role Matters
This is an opportunity to directly influence how an award-winning architecture practice presents its work and wins new opportunities. If you're someone who loves working at the intersection of storytelling, design, and coordination—and who wants to be surrounded by thoughtful, high-integrity professionals who design with purpose—this is a place to grow and contribute meaningfully. You’ll gain exposure to beautiful, impactful projects and collaborate with architects and consultants who care deeply about quality and community.

Who This Role Is Great For
This role is ideal for someone early to mid-career who brings a blend of creativity and structure. You might be a marketing or communications professional with a strong design eye—or a proposal coordinator who thrives on timelines and details but wants to work in a visually driven environment. Whether you lead with graphics or operations, we want someone who values aesthetics, clarity, and thoughtful architecture.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the development and submission of RFQs, RFPs, and RFEOIs
  • Draft and edit written content for proposals, award submissions, and resumes
  • Design or support layout of visually cohesive marketing materials and presentations
  • Maintain and organize the firm’s image, project, and resume libraries
  • Keep website and social media content current and on-brand
  • Prepare materials for conferences, speaking engagements, and promotional events
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure quality, consistency, and clarity

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

  • 2–5 years of experience in a marketing, proposal, or communications role in architecture, design, engineering, or professional services
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (Photoshop and Illustrator a plus)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and self-directed work ethic
  • A portfolio or track record that demonstrates strong visual judgment and content ownership
  • Interest in and appreciation for architecture, urban design, or placemaking
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada long term
  • Willing and able to work full-time, in-office in Vancouver

Nice to Haves

  • Hands-on graphic design experience beyond layout (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience managing or contributing to social media content
  • Familiarity with award submissions, publications, or conference collateral
  • Experience working within a professional, creative, fast-paced team

Interested? Submit your resume, and—if possible—a link or PDF portfolio of your writing and/or graphic work.
