The REC Market is one of Toronto's fastest growing pop-up vendor market that brings together local entrepreneurs, artists, and small businesses to create vibrant, community-driven shopping experiences since 2021. We host curated markets across the city, providing a platform for diverse vendors to showcase their products—from vintage fashion and handmade goods to food, art, and wellness items. Role Description

We’re seeking a creative and organized Marketing Specialist to lead content creation and digital strategy across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms. This person will help elevate our brand presence, promote our daily markets, and drive vendor and visitor engagement through strategic marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly social media content (Reels, Stories, Posts, TikToks) to promote upcoming market days, highlight vendors, and showcase market experiences
• Create eye-catching graphics and copy for social media, email campaigns, and web updates
• Manage and grow our online community, responding to comments, DMs, and vendor inquiries
• Assist with photo and video content collection on select market days
• Analyze social media metrics and make recommendations to boost engagement and reach
• Collaborate with Events Supervisor and Founder to align marketing strategy with weekly programming

You’ll Excel If You Have

• A passion for local businesses, pop-ups, and event culture
• Experience using Canva, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and email marketing platforms (like Mailchimp)
• Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for brand tone and aesthetics
• The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Photography and/or video editing skills are a big plus
• Fun, creative environment surrounded by local makers
