Job summary

Interstate Batteries in Calgary, AB is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee a company-owned distributorship, drive profitable growth, and meet strategic financial goals.

You will monitor weekly scorecards, manage accounts receivable, oversee budgeting, inventory levels, and dealer relationships, and lead improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years proven managerial experience.
• Experience in a Warehouse or Distribution environment a plus.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Knowledge of battery or automotive systems a plus.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage P&L and budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee P&L and budget performance for the operation.
• Review and analyze weekly scorecards and monthly financials; design action plans for variances.
• Active AR management to maintain healthy receivables.
• Develop and implement plans for accounts with high AR balances.
• Manage inventory to align with selling activity and revenue goals.
• Lead Dealer Inventory Optimization (DIO) for efficiency.
• Maintain relationships with key account decision makers and manage dealer erosion.
• Drive market strategies and sales growth within the region.
