Job summary

Dragon Valley Farm, near Cupar, Saskatchewan, is expanding into food processing with a new wheat flour milling facility producing specialty flours for Asian food applications and traditional flour markets across Canada and North America. We are seeking a Market Development Specialist to lead customer development and channel building for our flour products and byproducts.

You will develop distributor networks across retail, food-service, and industrial channels, identify opportunities in target

Qualifications

  • Sales or business development experience in food, flour, grain, or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of the North American food distribution system, including distributors and food brokers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proactive and self-driven, able to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain target customers including food manufacturers, bakeries, noodle producers, food-service companies, and byproduct clients.
  • Build and manage distributor and food broker networks across retail, food-service, and industrial channels.
  • Develop and execute market development plans identifying target regions and channel opportunities.
  • Work with QC/R&D to gather customer specifications and support product trials.
  • Follow up on customer feedback and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and service.
  • Collect and analyze market information including competitors, pricing, and channel trends.
  • Attend trade shows and customer visits to build brand and product profile.
  • Maintain customer files, sales records, and business documentation.

We are seeking a Market Development Specialist to lead customer development and channel building for our flour products and byproducts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain target customers including food manufacturers, bakeries, noodle producers, food-service companies, and byproduct clients
  • Build and manage distributor and food broker networks across retail, food-service, and industrial channels
  • Develop and execute market development plans identifying target regions and channel opportunities
  • Work with QC/R&D to gather customer specifications and support product trials
  • Follow up on customer feedback and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and service

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base Salary (Full-Time): CAD $40,000-$100,000/year, based on experience
  • Commission: Negotiable, based on experience and channel resources
  • Consulting Engagement: Negotiable fee/commission structure by mutual agreement
