Job summary

OSI Maritime Systems, a leader in ECDIS-based navigational software, seeks a Systems Test Engineer 3 to plan, execute, and maintain testing across complex real-time software. You will author test plans, perform manual and automated testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality across the OSI Software Suite.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years’ experience in a software environment
• Experience developing real-time interfaces to external systems
• Experience in an ISO 9001 compliant software engineering environment is a plus
• Experience in defense or aerospace domains is an asset
• Ability to author manual test procedures and automated test cases
• Familiarity with test coverage and traceability to requirements

Responsibilities

• Follows the SDLC and software testing best practices per OSI processes and training
• Authors high quality test plans, procedures and reports
• Defines test objectives and writes test cases for functional, regression and performance testing
• Executes formal manual testing at the system level
• Performs exploratory testing at feature, component, and system level
• Develops and maintains automated test procedures
• Adapts tests for new products/features/platforms to promote reuse
• Participates in peer reviews of test procedures and maintains version control
• Troubleshoots and documents defects and test results
• Provides technical leadership to junior staff as needed
• Maintains knowledge of laboratory equipment and safe usage
• May travel to customer sites for installations and tests
• Produces software documentation to support projects
• Ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and OSI processes
