Oceanex Inc. is seeking a temporary Electrician to work on one of our ships sailing Halifax, NS to St. John’s, NL.

The Electrician will perform electrical tasks specific to the ship and follow instructions from the Engineer on Watch, assisting as needed. Position is 28/28 on a 5‑week boarding basis in Halifax, NS, with November 2, 2026 to December 5, 2026 as the starting and ending window. Qualifications

• Trade with Electronics Endorsement required.
• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (except FRB) required.
• Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties Proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical tasks aboard the vessel as directed by the Engineer on Watch.
• Assist the Engineer and Electrical team with routine maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during on‑board electrical work.

Job description

We have an opening for a temporary Electrician position for one of our ships, which sails between Halifax, NS and St. John's, NL. The Electrician is responsible for accomplishing electrical tasks specific to the ship. He/She follows the instructions given by the Engineer on Watch and assists them as needed. The Electrician reports to the Chief Engineer, with functional reporting to the 2nd Engineer (routine and maintenance).

• Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
• Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties Proficiency
