Job summary

Default Brand in Canada seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize methods, equipment layout and material flow. You will analyze problems, propose solutions, define equipment specifications and perform time studies. You will also support PFMEA, Control Plan, TS and safety initiatives while helping launch new models.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have 5–7 years of manufacturing experience; strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Mechanical or Electrical.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive experience is a plus.
  • Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Consult, analyze, evaluate and review problems related to methods, equipment, material handling, layout and flow.
  • Provide alternative solutions to manufacturing problems.
  • Specify for new equipment and generate time studies, charts and reports.
  • Evaluate and implement cost-reducing, value-adding or quality-improving projects.
  • Collaborate with health and safety to design safeguards and improve team safety.
  • Train on process changes and assist in trouble shooting to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to NSG/Pilkington Standards and participate in PFMEA/Control Plan/TS requirements.
