Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. is seeking an Operational Excellence Analyst to develop and implement the corporate strategy focused on employee engagement and cultural transformation. You will lead cross-functional ideation, track progress, and quantify financial impact across units.

You will analyze KPIs daily, drive change management in a heavy manufacturing setting, and mentor teams while collaborating with HR, Finance, IT to foster a collaborative approach to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 3–5 years of industry experience in heavy manufacturing preferred.
  • Self-starter able to multi-task, maintain accuracy and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Lean tools training and experience.
  • Understanding of workflow and throughput in a facility.
  • Experience with change management in manufacturing.
  • Multi-priority management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience and expertise in Value Stream Mapping and leading A3 processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Lean manufacturing software.
  • Analytical tools knowledge; strong statistics understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ideation sessions with cross-functional teams and track initiatives' progress and financial impact.
  • Analyze data and monitor KPIs with units daily.
  • Identify and develop operational change activists; establish communication across units.
  • Support program office and execute activities provided by program office manager.
  • Identify, quantify and execute on operational excellence activities across unit.
  • Lead training, coaching and mentoring sessions with shop personnel.
  • Support all operational excellence activities through all phases.
  • Improve employee engagement and collaborate with operators to improve performance.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT to enable excellence.
